BMS Birthday Scheme

Do you like getting birthday cards on your birthday.? I think that we all do. Maybe you like gifts even more? Would you like to give a gift to celebrate another year of life? There is a scheme where you can do this.
It is organised by the Baptist World Mission and it is called the BMS Birthday Scheme. I administer it for SBC.
How does it work? I hear you ask.
I send you a birthday card for your special day. The envelope also contains a smaller envelope in which you make a donation towards the work of BMS World Mission You also get an information sheet.
I ask you to return the small blue envelope to me with your donation and it gets forwarded to BMS. Alternatively, you may donate online.
The money that you donate usually goes towards the support of a hospital at Guinebor, a mission hospital in Chad, a very poor country in Africa, although it does support work in other parts of the world.
If you would like to become involved in this support do please contact me either by phone or email – my details are in the Church Directory. I would love to hear from you. Many loyal supporters of the scheme have moved away or died over recent years and it would be good to have some fresh donors.
Over the past year, thanks to the generosity of those in the scheme at SBC, I was able to send monies totalling £1,058 to BMS. I have had several letters during the year acknowledging your donations and thanking us for the gifts.
I do hope that you will feel able to participate and I look forward to hearing from you.
