Walking the Parables of Jesus

Wintershall are unable to perform the Life of Christ this year but will instead be offering a new experience, Walking the Parables of Jesus from 28 June to 3 July. There will be 5 Parable scenes with the audience walking from scene to scene. There will be limited numbers and this will allow more social distancing.

Schools will join during the week with adult groups and families invited to join for Friday 2 July or Saturday 3 July, who will be allocated into groups of a maximum of 60. There will be resources available to help you reflect on what the Parables might mean for us today, in our changing world.

On Friday 2 July, the day will run from 10 am to 2:30 pm with a reflection after each scene. Please email Wintershall to book.

On Saturday 3 July, you can select either 10am to 12:30pm or 2pm to 4:30pm followed by a 'bring your own' picnic in our beautiful grounds with time to reflect on what you have seen. This can be booked on Wintershall's website. Please book without delay as numbers are limited.

Due to the nature of this event, walking from scene to scene, this is not suitable for audience members with limited mobility.

Wintershall are looking for new people to join our cast, no prior experience required. Wintershall also need guides to help the audience along the route of the Walk. Join in and get the full experience including behind the scenes! Email Winterhsall if you can help.

Planning your Visit

We’re glad you've chosen to have a look at our website, and hope you’re interested to find out more about Selsdon Baptist Church.

A church is primarily about people, and we are a friendly group of people who love God and live in Selsdon and nearby.

We have a church building on Addington Road, Selsdon, but at the moment we have only very limited use of the building because of the Covid pandemic. But that doesn’t stop us worshipping God – only we have to do it over Zoom and YouTube!

Most of us watch together at the same time (10 30am) on Sunday, and then join to chat and discuss on Zoom just afterwards.
We’d be delighted for you to join our YouTube worship, listen to the midweek reflections on YouTube, listen to the Ask the Ministers Podcast, or join the Zoom meeting.

Depending on the current restrictions level, there is the opportunity to join us to watch the YouTube service in the church building itself – check the service details for each Sunday for instructions.

If you’d like to find out more about us and about our Christian faith, please browse the website. The Blog page will give you a feel for our recent ideas and activities. If you would like to talk to someone, please fill out the contact form below for a chat.

Hopefully when the pandemic eases, you’ll be able to come and see what we’re like on a Sunday and at other events – watch the website to see what becomes possible and when.
