Sandwiches for Nightwatch
You may remember that at the end of our ‘turn’ to provide sandwiches for Nightwatch every Thursday evening via CCFS, (Croydon Churches Floating Shelter), we added an extra 3 months, April, May and June.
The Thursday Nightwatch team have been very grateful for our help. They do a fantastic job of giving out sandwiches, drinks etc. to a long queue of about 100 people, some of whom are homeless and others finding life a struggle. They start handing out the food at about 9:30 p.m.
We have been providing up to 10 loaves of sandwiches each Thursday and the team have been extremely grateful for our help.
As June comes to an end, I am wondering whether any of you feel able to continue providing a loaf or two, or whether some new people might feel able to ‘come on board’ to give others a break. It doesn’t have to be every week. You can choose your dates and I’ll give full instructions. The made-up sandwiches are placed in Dawn & Peter’s porch and delivered by them.
Please contact me if you’d like to continue or would like to start helping for the first time.
Thank you, Pat Hasell
