Transform Croydon Prayer Booklet 2022 - Our Borough
“Seek (inquire for, require and request) the peace and prosperity (welfare) of the city to which I have carried you...Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Jeremiah 29:7
Has Croydon ever needed our prayers more than now?
Let's pray:
For the Council: For God to forgive us our debts and for our Council leaders to receive God-given gifts of wisdom and administration to lead us out of bankruptcy. For good relations between the Council and Croydon churches.
For service providers trying to maintain essential operations on reduced budgets. Ask God to miraculously stretch and multiply their resources so that no needy person is overlooked. Pray that churches will know how to respond to the cuts and where, or if, they should step in to fill the gaps.
For our police and emergency services: For safety and protection as they go about their patrols, respond to call-outs and are faced with dangerous or volatile situations. For wisdom and integrity in every interaction with the public.
For our health care professionals working under pressure to keep us physically and mentally healthy during the pandemic and now and facing a huge backlog of cases. Pray for their own mental well-being, stamina and, once this is finally over, for fair pay settlements.
For income-generators: For Croydon to recover we need investors and employers to relocate here. Pray for companies to be drawn to the borough and to see potential here. Pray for the town centre to be regenerated. Pray for fair business rates and fair dealings with the Council. Speak words of life over our borough. Pray that it will prosper.
