Ruth C - Sunday Club
We have a very wide range of ages in one group (currently) - the leaders need wisdom, creativity and energy to try to cater to all ages.
We have varying numbers and children each week - leaders need more wisdom and flexibility to adapt each week. Sometimes leaders also need patience (and more wisdom!) to deal with attitudes and behaviours encountered.
We have little contact with families - need creative ways to engage with whole families as well as the children.
Would like to connect with the children on a deeper level, providing a good foundation for growth.
That we may be good examples to the kids, speaking truth and helping them to grow as in these two passages.
1 Peter 5:2-4 ESV
shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under
compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but
eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.
And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
Ephesians 4:11-16 ESV
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and
teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of
Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of
God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so
that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about
by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is
the head, into Christ,
