Col 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Since Exodus and the 10 commandments says the same thing, it must be an important thing to be mentioned twice.

Prayer
Lord you are the giver of life and all good things.
Help all parents to appreciate their children even when things do not go right. Help
us to remember they are a gift from you. 
Help the parents in our Church to always be ready to listen to the children we come
into contact with, to be ready to offer help and advice when needed and always be
ready to ask questions when our children seem quiet or silent on matters. 
As a Church help us to be ready to support the children we come into contact with.
Help us to remember the vows we make at a dedication service and never ignore a
child but always be there for them.
Help our children and the Children we come into contact with to always be able to
ask questions or ask for help when they need it in the safe knowledge that we will
always be there to help and assist them.
Thank you for your perfect example of when children came to you you told the
disciples “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these".

Help us to think about how we look after our children and how we respond to them
so they may grow to love you.
