Hilary W – What needs to be disturbed?

Psalm 25: 4-5
Show me your ways Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are my God my Saviour and my hope is in you all day long.

What needs to be disturbed in order to set God’s direction for the future?
This term I moved from supporting the worship group to re-engaging with children and families. Leaving one team behind wasn’t easy, especially when I was aware of how much they appreciated musicians, but I sensed that God was asking me to ‘stand in a different place’ for a while.

Reflecting over the last few months, I’ve had the opportunity to deepen my contact with our Sunday club children and those families attending creche. The tots team provide an amazing outreach to parents & carers, and it’s wonderful to experience their commitment each week.

I can’t pretend that there haven’t been challenges and that some days feel rather exhausting!! I do thank God for the time and opportunity to meet young families and to know some more of our church family by name.

I would encourage you to continue to be courageous in the Lord. Standing at the front of SBC on a Sunday morning are real challenges for me. Don’t hold back, wait on the Lord and trust in His provision.
Please pray for:

  • Our worship team, that others may continue to come forward, to offer their gifts on
  • a regular basis.
  • Those bringing children to SBC this term, whether visiting during the week or worshipping, will feel welcomed, encouraged and supported.
Are there any areas that God is challenging you to try? Would you be able to offer help for a term and try joining a rota (Sunday club, crèche, refreshments, worship)? What might you need to disturb, or change, in order to do this? Who do you need to chat to? Please come & find me if no one else springs to mind!!

Thank you for your prayers
Amen.
