Peter - Facilities
It is a privilege at SBC to have amazing buildings to worship God and to serve others. The church
buildings facilitate the mission of the church. They provide physical space for us to worship God, to
join in fellowship with one another and we are able to bless our local community as we open our
doors so that others can utilise the space. They also witness for the church, which is called to be a
“light to the world. (Matt 5: 14-16)
We are also blessed to have three manses, but the church buildings and the manses all need to be
maintained.
“Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house (Haggai, 1:3-
4,9)”. Take care of the house of God, and then God will take care of your problems and lift you
up!”
There is always work to be done from changing a battery, fixing a hook or changing a light bulb to
major work repairs, maintaining our heating and calling in local contractors to undertake work… to
name but a few. At present there is only a very small team to undertake the vast amount of work
that is needed to look after our church buildings and manses.
Please give thanks for:
-
these physical spaces that allow us, “the church” to worship and do the work of God's Kingdom and reaching out to the local community.
-
the manses, that we as a church are able to provide comfortable and safe homes for those who work at SBC
-
the volunteers on the facilities team who are committed and willing to offer their gifts and talents to help look after God’s buildings
-
how we are blessed with financial giving to help maintain all the buildings
-
our local skilled contractors, who we call upon as needed
Please pray:
-
For the facilities team and for this team to grow
-
For continued enthusiasm and stamina
-
For more volunteers to join the facilities team who are keen DIYers or professional tradespersons to do ad-hoc jobs
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can
do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
