Yasmin – the garden

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all
who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it
upon the waters.
Psalm 24

For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the
depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his for he
made it and his hands formed the dry land. Psalm 95

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take
care of it. Genesis 2

Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood except by the blood of the one who shed it. Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I the Lord, dwell among the Israelites. Numbers 35

Dear Father God, thank you for the beauty and wonder of all your creation. Oh God of creation, who loves all he has made and all that has evolved, open our eyes, that your love might be reflected in our care for the planet.
Holy God, earth and air and water are your creation, and every living thing belongs to you: have mercy on us as climate change confronts us. Give us the will and the courage to simplify the way we live, to reduce the energy we use, to share the resources you provide, and to bear the cost of change.
We pray through Jesus Christ our Lord, who walked this earth and calls us by name.

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker, for He is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Psalm 95.

The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad. Psalm 97
