Holiday at Home 2024
Yet another Holiday at Home has come and gone! Like a good meal, it takes a long time to prepare but is gone in a flash!
Thank you everyone for your support in providing items to help decorate the premises and make it feel a bit like ‘being away’. We had a brilliant team of volunteers making sure that everyone had plenty of things to do and people to chat to. There was a lovely atmosphere throughout the week.
There were crafts to try, musicmaking using belle plates, singalongs, quizzes, carpet bowls, jigsaws and board games and so much more. No one had an excuse to feel bored.
We had some entertainers visiting us too. The North Wood Morris men came to dance for us, the local Townswomen’s Guild drama group kept us entertained with their acting skills and a speaker from the RNLI gave an excellent talk illustrated by videos and the chance to buy some items to help raise funds for this good cause.
As for refreshments, I defy anyone to say they were hungry. With Maggie’s delicious hot meals, salads and cream teas galore, who could possibly need an ice cream? Everyone! Or so it would seem. Well, we were on holiday after all!
Thank you everyone who contributed in any way whatsoever. Your combined efforts made it all possible. Where shall we go next year?
