Children and Families
Selsdon Woods Open Day, 8 September
After the thunderstorms and torrential rain the previous night, I wasn’t sure if we would be going ahead. Thankfully we were able to unpack our loaded car and enjoy plenty of sun as the day progressed. There were lots of families to meet and many of the children stayed to do some craft or complete a scavenger hunt or play some games. Thank you to those who came to help and encourage us during the day.
Adventure Tots began Wednesday 11 September, and it was wonderful to see both old and new faces as the sanctuary started to fill up with children playing and conversation. Our cupboard is now freshly sorted, thanks to an army of volunteers and we’ve also been promised some new shelves which will really help us to be more organized. I’m grateful to our daytime volunteers, but this is a decreasing number. We are in changing times, so few people are available during the day, and we must be considering how to support our children and their carers in a very different world.
Sunday club is continuing after summer break and we are delighted to see some new children attending. Please pray for those new families as they come along, that they may feel welcomed and settled. I also have two Assemblies to prepare for a local primary school about Harvest and Advent.
God bless
