Children and Families
Hello everyone
By the time you read this, Christmas will feel like a long time ago, but thank you so much for attending our family services.
I was grateful to everyone who took part in our ‘All Age Nativity’, especially William, Robert and Rosemary who did a wonderful job of leading us through the story, and of course Danial who read a brilliant prayer at the end. The Christingle provided us with another opportunity to be family together in the upstairs hall.
Adventure Tots
Our notice board has a vibrant scene of the nativity and children’s craft. I think some of our adult visitors enjoy the craft more than the children! Do look, it’s outside the sanctuary on the back wall, because that’s where the children enter on a Wednesday morning. We spent our first Wednesday back clearing our storage cupboard and had a big tidy up. A huge thank you to Pete C who has built us some wonderful shelving and we’ll try hard to maintain this organized space. This term I hope to attend ‘The Rhythms of Grace’ conference (for London toddler groups) and hopefully some of the team will also come along. Our themes are sorted and will include Bible stories with secular ones during our song time.
Sunday Refresh 4–5.30pm
These are running in the upstairs hall. Alongside the craft and games, we are including a short Bible reflection for all ages. If you enjoy chatting and could help welcome, support crafts or tea, then do let me know.
Sunday Club
We have three groups and a limited number of people who support our children on a Sunday.
Little Seeds (0–4 years)
The rota is set, and we have parents who value conversation, a hot drink and young children who like to play, have a short story and simple craft. If you could take this one week, I’d love to hear from you.
Story Tellers (4–6 years)
Rosemary and Linda lead and alternate each week. Rosemary particularly values adult support. Sunday Club (7–11 years)
Could you support or offer to teach one week. Pauline would love to hear from you.
I’m looking forward to visiting three of our local primary schools once dates are sorted, and spending time with our Sunday Club families on an individual basis.
God bless Hilary West
