Global Action Team Update
As well as organising events, such as the quiz to raise funds for the International Needs Disability Inclusion Project in Uganda and the forthcoming quiz for the Leprosy Mission, GAT is responsible for raising awareness at SBC of the organisations and individuals at work in other countries whom we support and then once a year allocate funds to them. This we did at our recent meeting, with £9,500 available. We decided on the following allocation:
-
Missionary Aviation Fellowship £500 (The first time we have supported this organisation, as far as I know.)
-
Leprosy Mission £1,000
-
Open Doors £1,000
-
International Needs £4,000
-
Catherine Truman £500 (Pharmacist with Interserve, serving at Vellore CMC Hospital, India)
-
FEBA £800 (Radio and other media for hard-to-reach communities in Africa, the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent)
-
Tearfund £500
-
Herbertpur Hospital, India £700
-
Embrace the Middle East £500 (in addition to what we collected over Christmas for this very needy region)
We hope you will be pleased to see your money being used in this way. If you would like to contribute your time and ideas to this ministry by joining GAT, please speak to Trevor. We are very few in number, and I shall be leaving the team in a few months’ time. I am also the Feba Rep at SBC, so this will potentially be another role to be filled.
