Hello Church!

As I write this article, a number of us have just returned from a Christian camp called Revive at Ashburnham Place in Hastings, run by Ichthus. This was an amazing, spirit and SO much joy-filled few days; here are some of the things the young adults had to say about it…

‘Revive was everything I expected and more. The teaching was brilliant; the worship was fantastic and God spoke through more words and pictures than I imagined.'

I would recommend Revive to everyone at SBC; hopefully we can take an even bigger group next year!’

'Revive 2025 was a wonderful week away; spending time with each other, building our friendships and young adults’ community.’

‘A timely week away in the presence of God. Was great to be away with SBC and the wider church. A time of refreshing.’

‘Revive was the spiritual awakening I needed, the presence of God was so alive in that place, and I was really filled afresh with his Spirit. The teaching and fellowship allowed me to see who we are in Christ so much clearer.'

And with all things youth ministry @ SBC

As we look ahead to September, we are so looking forward to the new Year 7s joining us, and we’ve got lots of exciting things ahead…

Firstly, Rooted will now be split into two groups on a Sunday morning. So, one group will be for school years 7–9, and the other year 10+. This is so that we can really dedicate teaching to their specific age ranges.

Previously, LIFE youth group was every other week, but we have decided to make this group on a weekly basis. We are going to be starting the new academic year on a high and launching an amazing and brand-new Youth Alpha series on Thursday 11 September. This is for all young people aged 11–18 (Secondary School ages). This course will be a really great opportunity for young people, whether they know Jesus a little or a lot, and we are praying that many of them will feel confident to bring friends along. We will also be advertising this in the local community, and of course – each week we will share our favourite puddings/sweet treats!

Please do continue to pray for our young people, especially those receiving any exam results in August. May God bless you all and thank you all and thank you so much for your continued support!
