Contact needs Drivers!

Contact is our Selsdon churches neighbourhood care scheme. They rely on volunteers to help their clients (mainly elderly) by, among other things, giving lifts to hospital and doctors appointments locally. Do you have spare time occasionally to help with this?

Help Make a Difference: Volunteer Drivers Needed for Medical Appointments
Do you have a few spare hours and a reliable vehicle? Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Consider becoming a volunteer driver to help individuals in need get to their medical appointments. Your kindness and generosity could make a world of difference for someone facing transportation challenges.

The Need for Volunteer Drivers. Every day, countless people in our community struggle to access vital medical care due to a lack of reliable transportation. The elderly and individuals with disabilities are particularly affected by this issue. Missing medical appointments can lead to worsened health outcomes and increased stress for those already facing challenging circumstances. Volunteer drivers provide a crucial service by ensuring these individuals can access the care they need. Whether it’s a routine check-up, a specialist appointment, or ongoing treatment such as dialysis or chemotherapy, your assistance can help bridge the gap.

What Does a Volunteer Driver Do?
As, a volunteer driver, your role is simple but impactful:

  • Drive individuals to and from their medical appointments using your own vehicle.
  • Provide friendly and supportive companionship to ease the stress of travel.
  • A flexible schedule -that works for you -even a few hours a month.
  • Mileage reimbursement: We offer reimbursement of petrol expenses.
We welcome individuals who:
  • Have a valid driver’s licence.
  • Own a reliable and insured vehicle.
  • Are compassionate, dependable and respectful of others.
No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to help and a desire to make a difference. Joining our team of volunteer drivers is easy!

Simply, call us on the above number or Email us. You can also visit our website at www.selsdoncontact.org.uk for additional details and to complete a volunteer application

We look forward to hearing from you.
