Hello church...

We’re in a new year, and we’ve been planning away with all things youth ministry for the year ahead and all that is to come! To update you on some of the things that have been happening…

LIFE youth group has started back up, Thursday nights at SBC. Now Youth Alpha has finished, we’ve started a new course where we are looking at Luke’s Gospel in a fun and interactive way through doing lots of activities and discussions. This course will take us up to Easter. We’ll also be doing some socials every few weeks – we’ve noticed that when we do some team games or a social night where we do bake (a particular favourite from the young people!) it brings the group together and there is a really great atmosphere.

Sunday mornings in Rooted we have been following the same series as the church, looking at Encounters. Keeping the same theme as everyone else, our hope is that when they leave church that morning – that won’t be the end of the conversation! They will continue to talk to those they live with about all they might have learnt/how God might have spoken to them that morning. We’ve been having some really great conversations in Rooted recently, and even though numbers have been small, we’ve been able to gather together and build on conversation, that has been bouncing back and forth which has been really great to see!

As we’ve been making plans for the year, there were 3 ‘buzz words’ for the youth ministry that we’d love to see more of…and that is growth, confidence, friendships & baptism.

We also love to see the young people growing in confidence as they serve within the church service (one Sunday a month) – whether that be through doing a reading, the offering or serving teas and coffees afterwards; it’s all just a wonderful opportunity to see the young people getting involved, and having the chance to serve their church which really helps them to grow in confidence.

On a personal note, I’m also delighted to share that my husband (David) and I are expecting our first baby, due in June. We are so excited for this next chapter of our lives.

Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and support. Please do keep praying for our young people as we’re into this new year.
God bless you all,
