Hello church...

A little update from me about all things youth ministry! As we look ahead to the next term, from now until the summer holidays, we have been planning what LIFE youth group will look like (until May half term when I go on maternity leave).

We have now finished our ‘Look Again’ course, which was a brilliant resource that really opened up great conversations about a whole variety of topics. It’s so great to see the young people working so well together and there has been a really lovely atmosphere. They love playing some high energy games when they first arrive, which helps with the dynamics of the group. We are going to be starting a short-term series between now and the May half term break, where we’re going to look at some of the themes that young people seem to have been quite drawn to recently (based on some of our discussions). We’re also going to plan a couple of social sessions.

Rooted has been going well on Sunday mornings, as we continue to follow the same series as the rest of the church. We are so blessed to have such a great team of volunteers involved with Rooted, and we’re so grateful for any support you give – whether that’s through volunteering, or through prayer.

As I mentioned in the previous article, on Friday 5 June, Laura Haghparast and Margaret Bally and starting a brand new youth club, which will run through the month of June (not during July and August) with an official start in the new academic year, in September.

Every Tuesday afternoon throughout the summer holidays, Kathryn will be running a whole variety of events and trips for young people, including football, rock climbing, cooking, candle and soap making, rounders and a BBQ. Keep your eyes peeled for details on this!

We’re now heading into exam season, so please do keep these young people in your prayers, some are taking their GCSEs, and others A-Levels, with some looking at university for September. As a church family, we can show our support and prayers for these young people as they go into this this such important time of year.

As always, thank you for your continued prayers and support.
God bless you all
