From the Associate Minister...

Dear friends

I have been challenged and enjoyed the sermon series on prayer and being with my home group as we have studied the Prayer Course on Wednesday mornings at church. It has been great to get together and share stories of answered prayers, unexpected outcomes and stories of prayers that have yet to be answered.

Last December the Deacons made a list of things for prayer for our church as we went into 2026. As we are just over halfway through this year it has been good to reflect on how God has been answering some of those prayers. One of the prayers was that we, as a church would look ‘open’ to our community, and that we were there for people. God has been answering that prayer in lots of different ways. Within a few weeks of that prayer, the BBC came and filmed at Adventure Tots. We have had increased numbers of school children come and visit the church for the Easter Experience and RE lessons. Brownie and Guide groups have asked about the possibility of coming and regularly using our building. In addition to the regular groups that use our church, the Crafty Ladies have continued to build good relationships with people in our community and Pat and her team will once again host Holiday at Home.

If you read the Selsdon Gazette, you will have realised that we have become the series feature in the ‘History of Selsdon’ section. We have also had new people join our congregation on Sunday mornings, God has been drawing people to himself, and we have the privilege of welcoming them into the church here. God has been answering the prayer that we would ‘look open’ in ways we could not have begun to imagine when we first prayed.

If you would like to join us in prayer, you can do so in several ways:

  • We have fifteen minutes of prayer and reflection on Zoom from 9.15am, Monday to Thursday (if you are still in your PJs, just keep your camera off! We’ll never know!) It’s the same link every day: https://us02web.zoom.us/ j/89443073299? pwd=dywBQowb7BqGug8GkKsw24uMofa0uN. 1 Meeting ID: 894 4307 3299 Passcode: 349678
  • On Sundays we pray in the foyer area from 10.00am.
  • Every Wednesday we meet at church to pray from 7.00–8.00pm.
  • You can join a homegroup (details are on the website).

God is good, keep praying! Kathryn
