Youth Ministry

20318 993326264065043 36567667

Selsdon Baptist Church youth work aims to develop four areas of the young persons lives.

Love
We want to demonstrate and share in Gods love for the young people of the church and the local community in Selsdon

Community
We aim to create a community of young believers who seek to support and encourage one another. We aim to create openness to one another and the voice of God in our situations

Self awareness
Young people develop their self image from those around them. We want to be a positive influence which encourages young people to see themselves through God's own eyes.

Worship
We hope that as the young person develops they will see the love, community and beauty of God and will outwardly praise him through word, deed and heart.

FOCUS is a new video resource for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and well, anybody who is in our church family and wants to support and encourage the young people in our Church family. Each video will be a conversation with another youth worker about an important aspect of young people’s lives. We will focus down on the subject and offer our own experiences and advise on how to support others. Our prayer is that we encourage and equip our church family so that they can support our young people.

Satellites 2021 10th - 14th August 2021
Satellites

The Youth Team are planning on taking a group of young people away to Satellites Christian Festival. Every summer thousands of young people gather at Peterborough to worship God, learn what it means to live for Jesus in every area of their lives, to pray for one another, and to have loads of fun!

The event lasts for five days and has two main meetings a day, plus seminars looking at relevant subjects and lots of great venue/actives such as café bars, skate park, night club and craft spaces .

It’s a great full on week and we are hoping to take the biggest group that Selsdon Baptist has ever taken in the summer of 2021, We are again opening up this event to both Rock Solid and Gravity (School years 7-13).

The cost and the way we pay will be different because now you can book directly with the Satellites Youth Festival (less paperwork for me!). If you book with a deposit (£25) before the end of October, the ticket price is £95.

Selsdon Baptist church will be charging an additional £50 for transport and meals for the week. However, we will be running fundraising which will massive reduce this cost. This equates to a maximum of £145 for an awesome God filled week away.

To book your child’s ticket please follow the link;

I will be happy to chat over any questions you may have. Martin Wright

Planning your Visit

Welcome

We’re glad you've chosen to have a look at our website, and hope you’re interested to find out more about Selsdon Baptist Church.

A church is primarily about people, and we are a friendly group of people who love God and live in Selsdon and nearby.

We have a church building on Addington Road, Selsdon, but at the moment we have only very limited use of the building because of the Covid pandemic. But that doesn’t stop us worshipping God – only we have to do it over Zoom and YouTube!

Most of us watch together at the same time (10 30am) on Sunday, and then join to chat and discuss on Zoom just afterwards.
We’d be delighted for you to join our YouTube worship, listen to the midweek reflections on YouTube, listen to the Ask the Ministers Podcast, or join the Zoom meeting.

Depending on the current restrictions level, there is the opportunity to join us to watch the YouTube service in the church building itself – check the service details for each Sunday for instructions.

If you’d like to find out more about us and about our Christian faith, please browse the website. The Blog page will give you a feel for our recent ideas and activities. If you would like to talk to someone, please fill out the contact form below for a chat.

Hopefully when the pandemic eases, you’ll be able to come and see what we’re like on a Sunday and at other events – watch the website to see what becomes possible and when.
